DNA Test Privacy Policy

1. Role of LegUpRx

OrderMyDNA facilitates access to third-party, certified laboratories that perform genetic and laboratory testing services. We do not collect, store, process, or handle biological samples.

All DNA sample collection, shipping, analysis, and storage are conducted directly by independent partner laboratories in accordance with applicable laws and accreditation standards.

2. Information We Collect

We do not ship to New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, or Maryland.

We do not fulfill orders to those states.

In connection with laboratory testing services, we may collect and access:

  • Client identification and contact information
  • Order and billing information
  • Test reports and summarized laboratory results provided by partner laboratories

We do not receive, possess, or retain physical biological specimens or raw genetic material.

3. Use of Information

We use information solely to:

  • Facilitate testing services
  • Provide access to laboratory reports
  • Support client communication
  • Maintain operational and regulatory compliance

Genetic information is not used for marketing or commercial purposes without explicit consent.

4. Partner Laboratories

All biological samples are processed by independent, certified laboratories. These laboratories maintain their own privacy, security, and data protection policies, which govern the handling of specimens and raw genetic data.

Clients are encouraged to review the privacy policies of partner laboratories prior to submitting samples.

5. Data Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect electronic test reports and personal information within our systems.

Access to laboratory results is restricted to authorized personnel and secured through encryption and access controls.

6. Information Sharing

We do not sell genetic information.

We may share information only with:

  • Partner laboratories involved in testing
  • Authorized medical professionals
  • Service providers under confidentiality agreements
  • Regulatory authorities when required by law
  • We may share results with the referring partner as part of the service the client agreed to

7. Data Retention

We retain test reports and related records only for as long as necessary for business, regulatory, and legal purposes. Biological samples are retained and destroyed by partner laboratories according to their internal policies.

8. Client Rights

Clients may request access, corrections, or deletion of personal data where legally permitted. Requests related to biological samples must be directed to the processing laboratory.

9. Limitations

While we implement strong safeguards, no system can guarantee complete security. Clients acknowledge the inherent risks of electronic data transmission.
